We love welcoming families to our museum and have signed up to the Kids in Museums manifesto to help us make your visit even better!
With family trails, holiday activities and amazing exhibits you’ll find plenty to see and do for the whole family. When you’ve finished exploring the museum why not have a picnic by the beck or potter into Pickering to explore the shops and cafes?
We have baby change facilities and somewhere for you to park your buggy while you explore upstairs at the museum.
Don’t forget that Under 5s are free and we offer a selection of family tickets.
‘A rare find in the lovely market town of Pickering. Really interesting museum showing all aspects of life in the town and Pickering area over many years. Very well laid out. Staff friendly and helpful. Enjoyed by adults and the children aged 13,8, and 6 loved it. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.’ Google Review
‘Such a great museum well worth a visit and much bigger than expected from the outside! Plenty of little bits of things to do around the displays like colouring, making a little paper toy etc definitely worth a visit!’ Trip Adviser
‘The two ladies on the desk are fantastic they are smiley happy and fantastic with children, we had one autistic child with us and they were so good with him. I would recommend this museum to anyone of any age it’s great. The fee is reasonable considering you can use the ticket as many times as you want in a 12 month period.’ Google Review
