WW1 loan box
• Suitable for KS2 and KS3
Learn and discover about trench warfare through a selection of real and replica objects packed inside a suitcase including a British Army tunic and helmet, a trench whistle and field service postcard. Ideal to be used in the classroom as an aid to the development of chronological understanding, investigating sources and constructing informed responses. There is also information about local Pickering soldier Dr Murphy who joined the army in 1914 and served in a field ambulance unit.
The sources may also be used as a springboard for cross-curricular activities linked to Literacy, Art and Drama.
The WW1 loan box can be borrowed from the museum for a period of 2 weeks. There is a small cost of £10 and the box will need to be collected and returned to the museum. To book please contact us on 01751 473653 or email [email protected]
